Electrical work can be dangerous
Electricity can cause serious injury, fire or death. Any design, installation, repair or modification of an electrical system must comply with the electrical code and regulations that apply where you are (for example the NEC in North America or IEC 60364-based standards in Europe) and should be carried out or verified by a qualified, licensed electrician or engineer.
No guarantee of accuracy
While we aim to use correct formulas and widely accepted reference values, we make no warranty that any result is accurate, complete or fit for a particular purpose. Reference tables (ampacity, conduit fill, cross-sections and the like) are simplified and depend on installation method, ambient temperature, conductor grouping and other factors not fully captured here.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for checking every result and for the safety and legality of any work you carry out. VoltCalc and its authors accept no liability for any loss, damage or injury arising from use of these tools.
If you spot an error, please tell us so we can fix it.
